Household Essentials Reversible Ironing Board Pad & Cover, Caribbean Blue Strip & Baby Blue

If you iron everyday, this is the ironing board cover for you!
I iron every day -- shirts, table linen, evem sheets. Most ironing board pads and covers last a few months until they are "squished"and no longer act as a pad. I searched and read reviews and finally (in desperation!) bought this pad. It is great! It is for people who iron every day for an hour or so.
It is so hard to find a product that meets your use. I bought the Whitney because it was the one pad/cover that stated how thick the pad was that I could find on Amazon. So I bought it. It would be good if all ironing board covers/pads stated how thick the pad is, or gave durability estimates by amount of ironing done per day.
I may have bought the wrong cover -- given how much ironing I do per day -- but there was no way to know. Meanwhile, this pad/cover is working well.
I would like Amazon to rate ironing board pads/covers by 1)iron one hour per week, 2)two hours per week ... up to 10 hours per week then I could compare function and price -- not just pretty graphics...

Just received it and am very pleased.
Pros:
* Strong elastic.
* Very thick built-in pad.
* Reversible (especially useful if someone in the house uses it for ironing crafts--one side for crafts, the other side for clothing).
* It has a pocket for hanging things in a handy spot.
* It has velcro straps to keep it in place.
* It is very snug fitting on my 52"x13" board.
* It has a stain and heat resistant coating.
* Worth every penny!

Cons:
* None

Tips:
* One reviewer said that it wouldn't go over the board. This cover is a much snugger fit than the original that came with my board. This one will only go on if you put the narrow end of the cover around the narrow end of the board first and then stretch the other end of the cover over the board. If you try to put any other part of the pad on first, the narrow end will not stretch enough to go over the end of the board.
* The only ironing board covers I've ever seen machine washed are the cheap...

just a star shy
This is a really nice cover! Well padded and sewn, colorful and sturdy. Two problems. One: it's just a little short in the length, as another customer review said. I don't know if I'll wash it because I'm afraid of shrinking it and I made a cover for the board anyway for when it's in storage. To be fair, my ironing board is about 45 years old and, although it measures right, they're probably made just a touch shorter these days. Two: adjusting it is difficult because the cord is sewn in; there are no cord ends to pull, you have to struggle to get the tension right all around. Very good price and great product if you can deal with these issues.
